Amantha Parker is a cartoonist of just 33 years old, suddenly she reaches a pinnacle of success with her latest masterpiece, Iroki. A comic book with a manga connotation about the world of Arintha, the city of sin, and its hero, Iroki. A forty-year-old man with animal abilities who wears a black leather tribal coat and two unforgiving daggers. He never separates himself from his inseparable friend, little Kiki who is just 10 years old. An indigo girl who has the power to read thought. Iroki is an unhappy and lonely man afflicted with a cognitive deficit that torments him. He does not know who he is and he does not know where he is from, he only knows he is “the cure”! Following mental disorders Amantha Parker begins to have visual hallucinations in which she relives moments from the world of Arintha described in her comic book. The worsening of her hallucinations and the pressure of her father lead her to psychiatric therapy convincing her to interrupt the drafting of the last chapter of her great masterpiece. Nevertheless, her hallucinations persevere, becoming so real as to prevent her from discerning the difference between the real world and that of its comic book. November 11, 2017, a date that marks the beginning of the clash between good and evil in the world of Arintha. In a seemingly ordinary night the simple soldiers of the black nobility steal an ancient book accidentally found by Monica Trevi, a charming agent of the secret services. After three hundred and fifty five years the black nobility, presided over by the three hundreds Committee, comes into possession of the manuscript of Nimrodei, the last of the cursed texts.
The Supreme Court has finally recovered the missing piece, the date on which the one who professes “light bearer” will come! Concerned by the result of the theft, the agent knocks on Iroki’s door asking for advice from the knowledge keeper, the librarian. He understands the seriousness of what happened, reiterating the extreme need to find out which of the seven cursed books was stolen. Led by a monk of smyrno, an order that has always fought the black nobility, the three reach Reverend Marcus, the wisest in the city of Arintha. Marcus senses that Monica had taken possession of the manuscript of Nimrodei, explaining that, that precise night marks the beginning of events that will follow the clash between good and evil. Amantha Parker now no longer distinguishes the real world from that of Arintha, so as to fall in love with the same hero of her comics, Iroki. Her father continues to be near her, urging her insistently to complete the last chapter of Iroki, which suggests the possible climax. Over time the cartoonist inexplicably begins to interact with the characters of his comic, changing the narrative path. Iroki walks in the city of Arintha in search of a gargantur, a space-time tunnel whose life lasts only a moment. Led by Samuel, the monk of smyrno, he reaches the arch of Kioto, beyond which he becomes visible to his enemies. A supernatural entity takes shape in the sky. A thick and disturbing smoke descends on the earth assuming for a few moments the appearance of a demonic figure. The hero can only escape in search of the gargantur. He senses his existence by crossing it just in time, what he discovers on the other side disturbs him more than the dark presence.
Marcus, along with Monica Trevi, are waiting for him inside a nightclub. Iroki’s mission was for the sole purpose of proving that he is the only one capable of reaching a higher level, modifying Arintha’s destiny. Only the elected could get to where he arrived. The battle between the black nobility and the few rebels begins. Iroki, the Reverend Marcus, Monica Trevi and little Kiki, are preparing to face the enemies that protect the arrival of the light bearer. Amantha Parker begins to suspect in the insistence of her father, now convinced that her thoughts are not hallucinations, but the overlap of the world of Arintha to the real one in which he lives. Her irrational love for her hero pushes her to complete her masterpiece by offering Iroki victory in the final battle against the black nobility. But her father is furious insisting in the opposite direction, to make the comic original and not disappoint fans’ expectations. After days of doubt light is finally shed. Amantha climbs the hierarchy of evil, the simple soldiers of the black nobility are directed by the committee of the three hundreds who in turn take orders from the supreme court. The supreme court, however, responds to the orders of the one that no one has ever seen in the face: “The Only”. Only Amantha, as creator of the comic, can see its face and when it happens what she sees leaves her stunned. “The only” is her father. Now he has to choose between condemning to death the hero she falls in love with or saving his life by sentencing a parent to death. Even Monica Trevi in the meanwhile falls in love with the unhappy hero by unleashing the reaction of Amantha that affects the world of Arintha. When Iroki meets Amantha for the first time, his past comes together immediately. Now he knows why he is “the cure” and understands why. One possibility is presented to put an end to the inevitable conflict, to kill Amantha. A price that Iroki is not willing to pay.
