Fascinated by the cinema world since little, Francesco holds his first camera at the age of eleven, thanks the rising directing career of his older brother. As a teenager, he participates to all his projects, both in front of and behind the camera. And it’s the camera that catches his attention particularly. Motivated to learn more, he studies how to use it both on a tripod and on other equipment (steadycam, crane, etc.). After several experiences and various workshops, he becomes a camera operator for the film “Hold me Tight”, which receives the Film d’Essai qualification from the Italian Ministry of Culture. His experience continues both as a camera operator and as a director of photography. His particular eye for the camera grants him work on several music videos for artists of national importance such as Francesca Michelin, Afterhours, Marina Rey, and Brunori Sas. More personal satisfaction arrives when he participates as camera operator for the short film “Silent Night”, directed by his brother Luca Fortino, which earns a nomination at the Cannes Film Festival. His friendly nature, making him ready to take to heart every experience on the various sets, shows him to be a versatile figure, enough to be contacted in 2018 to direct and shoot the first social talent show dedicated to video makers. The secret to his success is having made his greatest passion his job.
